Reject Assignment (Case Creator)
If a case has been assigned to a Drafter that cannot answer the case, after discussion with the Hub Coordinator, they can reject the case back to the original case creator for reallocation. To do this, they would click on the Reject Assignment (Case Creator) button.
- Click on the Manage link in your My Work Workbasket for the case that you would like to reject.
- On the Create Draft tool bar, select the Reject Assignment (Case Creator) button. The Reject Assignment (Case Creator) pop up window appears.
- The person's details that originally created the case on eCase will appear in the Case Creator field. Click on the drop down arrow to allocate the case to another member of the team that creates cases.
NOTE The Case Creator will appear if they have the Create Cases privilege on their user account. Refer to the Explanation of the privileges section. - Optional. Select the Email Assignee tick box to send an email to the Case Creator you have selected.
- Optional. If you would like to copy other people into the notification email, click on the CC Recipients tick box. Additional fields will become available. The Team allocated in the Case Details screen will automatically be populated in the Include People From Teams area.

In the CC area, click on the drop down arrow to select the people in the chosen team.
NOTE you can select other teams using the Include People From Teams drop down arrow. The new people will then be available in the CC area for selection.- In the Add Comment field, enter information that will help the Case Creator to reassign the case to another team/Drafter. The comment will appear in the Notes section of Case Details.
NOTE if you have used the [[CASE_NOTE]] mail merge field in the email template, the comment added in the Add Comment field will be added to the email sent to the recipient. - Click on the Submit button. The case will move to the Case Creator's My Work Workbasket. The Information column will indicate the stage of the case, Transfer for Action, and who the case was rejected by. The Case Creator can then click on the Manage link and allocate the case to a new Hub or Drafter.
- In the Add Comment field, enter information that will help the Case Creator to reassign the case to another team/Drafter. The comment will appear in the Notes section of Case Details.
