Grouping PQ cases to create a Group

Where multiple PQ requests have been received that are the same or similar, you can group these together to action them as one. You can do this via the Grouped Cases link or via Linked Cases. The Grouped Cases link can be used if you know some details of the PQs that you would like to group, for example Case Reference number or Parliamentary UIN. You can then use one of the search functions to find the PQs.

To group PQ cases together via the Grouped Cases link, follow the steps below.

  1. Select a PQ case from the Workbasket by using the Manage link. This PQ will be classed as the lead case and will be the case that will appear on your Workbasket and answered as normal.
  2. On the left menu, click on the Grouped Cases link.
  3. If you… Then…
Know the Case Reference number or Parliament UIN · Enter two or more characters into the Quick search field and any matching cases will automatically appear in a list with the full Case ref number, UIN reference and the question.
    · Click on the PQ you would like to group. The PQ will appear in a list where you have the option to set it as the lead of the group, or ungroup it.
Do not know the Case Reference number or Parliament UIN · Click on the Advanced Search link. This will take you to the Case Search screen where you can add search criteria to help you find the cases, for example Date Received or MP name.
    · Click on the Search button
    · Enter a tick in the Select tick box for the PQ you would like to group.
    · Click on the Selected button. The case will now be grouped to the original PQ where you have the option to set it as the lead of the group, or ungroup it.

NOTE Any PQ cases that are grouped via the Grouped Cases link will also appear in Linked Cases.
