Enter response yourself

If the contributor has sent you the required information via email or has called you with the response, then you can enter the information into eCase yourself.

- How to forward a contribution response into eCase that has been received into an email inbox (Duration = 11 minutes)

To enter information yourself, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on the Enter response yourself button. The Enter Response pop up window appears.
  2. Enter the response you have received in the Referral Response field.
  3. Select the Response Date of the contribution request by using the calendar icon.
  4. Attach any correspondence to the response using the Choose file... link, or drag and drop a file in the Attachments area.
  5. Click on the Close contribution button. The Contribution is complete and is logged as you having completed the contributor’s response.

    A message appears to indicate that the contribution has been closed.
  6. If you would like to set this document as a response document for the case, click on the drop down arrow next to the document and select the Set as response document link.

  7. Click on the OK button if you would like to set the document as a response document. The drop down link changes to a Response document icon. This indicates that the document attached to the contribution has been selected to be a response document for the case.

    NOTE if multiple contributions have been sent out requesting information, and the name of the attached document is the same, eCase will ask you if you would like to replace the current version of the response document with the new version of the file or set this document as a new response document. If you do not want to do either, the document will be saved onto the case as a Contribution/QA document.
