Fast Track Cases
Any team member that has the Fast Track User role on their user account will be able to view and process Fast Track cases. This functionality is available to assist you in closing multiple cases in one go. For example, if you have sent an email response directly from a shared inbox, you can BCC the case into eCase and at the end of the day, you can then close all of those cases. The only case type that is applicable for Fast Track cases are Treat Official cases.
There are now two ways to access Fast Track cases:
- If there are any Fast Track cases, next to the Workbasket heading you will see the number of cases next to the Fast Track Cases link
. Click on the link to access the Fast Track screen. - Go to the More menu and under the Management section, click on the Fast Track Cases link. The Fast Track screen will appear.
A case will only appear in the Fast Track screen if it has been sent to the new.fasttrack@bis.ecase.gsi.gov.uk email address.
There are several enhancements to the Fast Track screen:
- Closed Fast Track cases can no longer be viewed from the Fast Track screen. Instead, go to the Case Search screen and select Fast-Track Cases from the Choose Fields link (Advanced tab). Once added to the Case Search screen, use the drop down arrow next to the Fast-Track Cases field to select Yes. Complete any additional fields, for example the date the Fast Track case was closed and click on the Search button. If a normal search was performed, a Fast Track case can be identified by the Fast Track case icon
. - The Closed Date field is no longer applicable as eCase will enter it automatically when closing the Fast Track case.
- The Response Date is entered by eCase as the date the case was received as a Fast Track case.
- Use the Recipient Name and Recipient Email to update the Correspondents details on the Case Details screen. If the email includes a ‘Dear [name]’ or ‘To [name]’ salutation, the name used will appear in the Recipient Name field.
- Choose one or more fields to update on one case or multiple cases. Enter the information and in the Apply To field select either All or Selected from the drop down list. If you choose Selected, make sure you have ticked the Select checkbox next to each case you would like to update.
- If some of the data is not updated on a case and you select to close it, you will receive a message to say You must enter this item. Use the Fast Track screen to update the required data and then close the case.
- If there are multiple pages of Fast Track cases, you can select cases on different pages to update in one go.
